Each year, to mark Global Day of Parents, Linda hosts an event to acknowledge and celebrate Trinity students who are parents and carers. This year, she welcomed undergraduate and postgraduate students with parenting/caring responsibilities, and was delighted to see many of their children come along as well.
Speaking to the group, Linda acknowledged the commitment that undertaking study entails, and how this is made even more difficult when students have additional responsibilities like parenting and caring.
‘It is our great privilege that you have chosen to study in Trinity and I hope to see some of your brilliant kids following in their parents’ footsteps in the future!’, she said at the gathering.
Also in attendance was Trinity’s Senior Tutor, Prof. Stephen Smith, and Student Support Officer, Christina Boccardo. Christina, along with colleagues from the Senior Tutor’s Office, and the Students Union, do fantastic work in organising events for student parents and carers throughout the year.
